Fashion Faux Parr

Fashion Faux Parr presents, for the first time in a single volume, Martin Parr’s collection of fashion photography. Featuring over 250 color images, many previously unpublished, it explores a wide range of work: editorial collaborations with prestigious magazines and fashion houses such as Vogue, Balenciaga, and Gucci; candid backstage shots at major events; and portraits of industry icons.

Two essays by influential figures in the field, Patrick Grant and Tabitha Simmons, shed light on Martin Parr’s unique perspective on the fashion world and place it within a broader context. This book is the only one entirely devoted to Martin Parr’s highly original approach in this domain, blending commissioned and personal photos, as well as reproductions of his reports published in Vogue and other international fashion magazines.

Martin Parr (born 1952) is an iconic British photographer and a member of Magnum Photos since 1994, renowned for his satirical view of contemporary societies. His distinctive style—saturated colors, harsh flashes, and tight framing—humorously depicts social clichés and the paradoxes of global consumerism. Among his major projects are The Last Resort (1986), focusing on British mass tourism, and Luxury (2019), critiquing opulence, cementing his reputation as a sharp, mischievous observer of our times.
